Speaks for itself…

A penny for your thoughts?  Yay or nay to baconnaise (I’ll put in my two cents next post).

And we’re off!

So I bought this today in hopes that one day, I will show enough readers the 8th great wonder of the world that is bacon.  I see us forming a sick and twisted cult that has the AMA and all health advocates alike, suing us for obesity and heart problems, while we mosey around American streets donned in these:

Ladies Baby Doll (Fitted)

and eating these:

I figured our first bacon “recipe,” if you will, should be a BLT.  What better way to star bacon than this classic sammie.  You should know, I also have a bit of a fondness for the art of a sandwich.  I strongly believe they make for the perfect food and allow for so much art and creativity that some delicatessens should consider themselves artists.  Just sayin… but this is a blog devoted to bacon, so today-go make yourself a BLT.  Start with the classic: toast, mayo (on both slices), peppa (the bacon usually provides enough salt), thick cut mater’ and a leaf or two of romaine lettuce upon which youre perfectly crispy (oven works best for this) slices of bacon.  Once you’ve mastered this, feel free to explore with cali style (avocado), or your own concoction with sprouts, maple-brown-sugar bacon, moutarde, or my fave: marmelade/chutney.  When it comes down to it though, you’ll find that the business has a tendency to lose the authenticity of a true BLT, thus creating an entirely different sammie altogether.  When you’re cravin a bacon sandwich, sometimes only the original will do.  So go bake off some bacon and send forth the results!

Introduction of sorts…

Hey friends!  I call you “friends” with the assumption that we share a delightful common interest: bacon.  While I have a mild infatuation with the crispy, salty swine and all of its cousins (prociutto, pancetta, pork belly, etc.), I’d like to make a disclaimer that  my diet is not limited to pig products and only pig products-I also make sure to round out my meals with lovely compound butters, mayo, cream, and of course my daily flinstone vitamin.  I mean, it’ s all about balance, right?  I kid, I kid…(well, kind of.  My other blog is www.lilpauladean.wordpress.com so I guess the former couldn’t be too far off).

Today’s post is really just my chance to introduce myself and the premature ideas I’ve got brewing to pay hommage to the lovely food: an ode to bacon, if you will.

For the most part, I assume I’ll be exploring the possible ways to enjoy bacon (shouldn’t be hard) and share my findings with y’all.  When I somehow get my hands on some $ to get a camera or some generous reader kindly donates a used one to me I will capture said findings to the best ofmy ability.  But this isn’t a one (wo)man show here, kids.  I WANT YOUR HELP!! Send me your own discoveries and photos.  In theory, this blog will collage bacon in all of its fatty goodness… because everything indeed. is better. with bacon.
